"He Is Able!" - Too

"For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted." (Hebrews 2:18 KJV)

"Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen." (Jude 24-25 NLT)

As I was saying, with some experience in dealing with self-control, there are times when we simply need to spend less time speaking, and more time listening; especially when it comes to loving others as we are told we should! What is the scale, meter, or the distance involved with that? "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!"

Both James and Jude had something in common, as they were both half-brothers of Jesus; and having grown up with Him, they mocked Him because they did not believe He was who He said that He was; at least not until He rose from the grave! What a difference the resurrection made, for a whole lot of people!

As I was thinking about this yesterday, there is something very similar with that resurrection, which is still to come; actually, it could happen any day! There will be the Rapture of all of us that are Saints! Imagine what a difference that will make too many people's lives, as they see the departure of those who they knew were followers of Christ Jesus.

There will be very similar reactions and changes to their hearts, just as when Jesus rose from the dead, the same power will have taken all of us up into Heaven, in the twinkling of an eye...

"Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten. No, the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God - his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for ultimate glory before the world began. But the rulers of this world have not understood it; if they had, they would not have crucified our glorious Lord. That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep hidden secrets." (1 Corinthians 2:6-10 NLT)
