"Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house." (Hebrews 3:2 KJV)
"Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you refuse to serve my gods or to worship the gold statue I have set up? I will give you one more chance to bow down and worship the statue I have made when you hear the sound of the musical instruments. But if you refuse, you will be thrown immediately into the blazing furnace. And then what god will be able to rescue you from my power?" Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, " O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn't, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up."" (Daniel 3:14-18 NLT)
I chose this portion of Scripture to illustrate something that I believe is important, especially in these times we have the privilege to be living in. This illustration of what it means to believe in the God who saves, I first was shown in the very beginning of my New Life in Christ; it was during the very first Wednesday Night Bible Study. The massage was combined with an additional message from PSALM 103:12, which says, "He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west."
There is really nothing on this earth that can separate us from God's love and the promise He has given us for eternal life with Him; if anything at all, we are the only thing that might stand in the way, but even then, it will not be easy to undo what He has done for us! I know that there are differences of opinion on that topic; but I firmly believe, if you truly were saved, then that salvation is noncancelable, no matter how hard you might try to undo it!
I know that I will be challenged for that belief, because I was challenged on the night we had these two messages together, because I did not believe that what God has done could be undone. When the officer that was teaching said, "But you can always turn and go the other way," I didn't agree, standing up I said, "How can we undo anything the God has done?"
I also know that there are firm believers that can change, turn away and pretend that God doesn't really care if we live or die; but if they were seriously a real believer, God will change their heart; one way or another, they will be saved. That's my belief in this thing we call Salvation, because His power is so much more powerful than ours; just like His love is so much surer than ours...
"All who confess that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who line in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first." (1 John 4:15-19 NLT)
