"Saturation" -2

"Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place." (Psalms 66:12) You see, obedience and persecution are closely connected: if you obey God, you will suffer persecution, in one form or another. What we need to be focused on is to be saturated in obedience; which seems to be the part that keeps me perplexed, because I can't seem to get that part of my walk right. But God!!! You know it! He not only brought us into the net, but He is going to bring us all the way through to the other side; talk about saturation, we are saturated by His love; beyond any kind of force or obstacle known to man, because nothing can undo what He has done! That word "wealthy" is more about abundance and satisfaction; the outline of Biblical Usage simply says, "Saturation", and that is all. It is likened to being extremely thirsty, with no way of quenching your own thirst; and yet, God provides water that not only quenches that thirst, but saturates you completely, taking away not only the thirst, but anything that can cause you to be thirsty again. I don't know about you, but I cannot get that kind of satisfaction from a bottle of water; when I am extremely thirsty, it's hard to feel satisfied. So what are we talking about? LIFE! More specifically, abundant life! What makes the life that we have abundant? Let me think. Could it be that it is Everlasting? That might be part of it, since eternity might contain an abundance of time to live. Could it be satisfaction? I see that there seems to be something going on in the area of being satisfied, because that tends to depend on where we are focused...  "Even the wilderness and desert will be glad in those days. The wasteland will rejoice and blossom with spring crocuses. Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon. There the LORD will display His glory, the splendor of our God. With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees. Say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you." And when He comes, He will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will sing for joy! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will water the wasteland. The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds will flourish where desert jackals once lived. And a great road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of Holiness. Evil-minded people will never travel on it. It will be only for those who walk in God's ways; fools will never walk there. Lions will not lurk along it's course, nor any other ferocious beasts. There will be no other dangers. Only the redeemed will walk on it. Those who have been ransomed by the LORD will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness." (Isaiah 35) NLT
