"Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes." (S.O.S. 1:15)
What say we turn over a couple of rocks; because there is something here I think needs to be looked at, if for no other reason, than that we might gain a little strength. Maybe I might be wrong, but the last I checked, strength is not really a virtue that God is looking for in those He chooses to depend upon Him. What He is looking for is someone that He can mold and make into a vessel that He can use.
That said, I think we have this certain tendency to get a little puffed up. Even the most faithful of God's servants, seem to experience a little period of feeling stronger than they should, in one way or another. That does not mean they are not used by God in their moments of pride and vanity; because, if truth be told, even our moments of failure and falling short are part of His story. The question that is relevant to our situation, is that of God's love remaining in our weakest moments; and whether or not we believe that it does.
Long story short, it is God's love that holds it all together! No matter how low we go or how hard we fall, we can never break that link that binds us to God's love, ever! How can I make such a claim, you might wonder? If He loved you then, then He loves you now! He knows you inside and out; there is nothing that we do that He is unaware of or was not prepared for us to do. Whether you can accept that or not, it really should matter; you can say you don't believe that to be the case; but it takes away from your ability to fully and completely trust in God.
Does that mean we have license to sin? Not in the least! I want you to know something that I feel is most important; something that you will not fully see or be aware of until you are actually in glory: there are people in our lives that we are going to weep over, seriously weep over! Yes, believe it or not, but there will be tears in heaven. God will wipe them away, but there will be tears for those you know that you caused to fall away; those that you stumbled, by not showing the love of God to. There is a reason for us to be holy, as He is holy; a reason that is not just for personal gain.
On a more pleasant note, God loves you and has a plan for you! With all the bad and stupid stuff we do, He still loves us, He never says, I made a mistake! God never makes mistakes...
"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay a charge to God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." (Romans 8:31-34)
