"The voice of my beloved! Behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills." (S.O.S. 2:8)
Whatever it is that you are looking for, be it rest, or peace, or maybe just some sort of break from life, we that know and love the Lord can find it, by simply listening to His voice! What, you say, I can't hear it? I beg to differ! Slow down and listen! I know that life is hectic, nevertheless, we must take some time and listen to His voice. If you are not spending some quality time with the Lord on any sort of routine bases, you might be inclined to listen or hear the voice of someone else.
I truly don't understand what is happening to some of the people I know that have been hanging out in the church for decades, but still cannot stay grounded in sound doctrine. Many have bought into whatever crazy new thing is springing up, whether it be ghosts, or reincarnation, or UFO's; whatever it is, it is a distraction from the Truth! If it is anything that cannot be verified in the Scriptures, it is something that must be ignored; that means, don't even try to figure it out! Seriously, don't dance with the devil, so to speak, because that is exactly what you are doing when you spend your time, any time, trying to figure out is there is any truth found in stupidity and foolishness.
Basically, the message is pretty clear: Stay on the higher ground and don't waste your time anywhere else! I know, it is quite strange and out of sorts; but this has something here which speaks to current situations and trends, no matter what time period we might be currently living in, (no pun intended.) By the way, I was reminded about something the other day that might shine a little light on some of the strange things little children might say, as if they might have been here or done that, or have lived another life: Please do not entertain those thoughts or try and explore where or who they might have been, because the only true explanation that is found in the Scriptures, is not something you want to have hanging around inside your home, or especially inside your child!
Okay, that said, now I want to speak about this verse and the law: "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the briar shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off." (Isaiah 55:11-13)
Even so...
"For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are." (Romans 3:20-22) NLT
