"He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love." (S.O.S. 2:4)
As far as these back and forth Scriptures are concerned, as I mentioned in my opening remarks, we will be going back and forth by reinforcing what is being said with what has already been declared, as many times as it needs to be said, because it needs to be said! Which reminds me of something we have left off of the table, so to speak, as we have been made to keep from coming together as a body of Believers: Communion!
I know it might be important to try and stay in line with the required guidelines and orders given by those in government, but there is a reason for coming together as a church; but greater than that, there is a reason that the church is being kept from coming together. To be clear, souls count more than the body, the body being these temporary tents that we are all living in. No matter what might happen to these bodies, it is the soul that will be judged when everything is said and done.
We only have this one chance to make this count, and it is important that it is not wasted pleasing men before God! If ever there was a time for the church to be made visible and alive, it is right now in this current culture; a time when people are looking for answers and some kind of hope. Is it any question to why the church is being silenced? I am pretty sure it is more spiritual than medical: souls are more important than flesh and blood!
If you might notice, the verse above is speaking in the past tense! Please forgive me if I leave it at that...
"Therefore, brethren, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together." (Romans 8:12-17)
