"He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour." (John 1:39 KJV)
""Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy."" (1 Peter 2:10 NLT)
Maybe the greatest feeling that we can ever experience, is the weight that is lifted when we experience God's mercy! Such a simple and yet complex thing it is, to simply surrender your life over to the Lord Jesus Christ. Simple, because it is something you simply do; complex, because it is so hard to figure out and explain how it works!
Believe me, I have tried several times to find a simple solution to show how it works, yet it never can be explained well enough to justify the reality of being set free from sin. How do you paint a picture of what takes place in the spirit of a man or woman, except you live through it yourself? It just can't be explained because it only is know by experience.
Anywho; this is the point in which there might be a tiny bit of misunderstanding. There are some that paint the picture that Andrew and Peter were the first to become disciples of Jesus Christ; first of three, maybe, but not the first two! If you have not been paying attention, there were two of John's disciples that left to follow Jesus, one was Andrew, the other is the writer of the message, John!
If you get right down to it, John goes through great lengths to avoid mentioning himself; using third person characters to show himself, or not even saying anything at all, except, the two, or two of them. The only example that I can think of where it was not the case, and I could be wrong, was the end of his message, where he says, "I."
As I have mentioned before, I might not remember the actual date when I was born again, but I can surely remember the time! What time is it, anyway? Some say it is noon; some say evening. I say it is high time we pay attention to the Season, because the day is nigh! By the way, the impossibility of the earth being billions of years old, is based upon the degree of the sun's rate of burning up: at the rate the sun is being consumed, the earth would have been a ball of fire a billion years ago...
"Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last day scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, "What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created."" (2 Peter 3:3-4 NLT)
