"A More Excellent Ministry"

"But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises." (Hebrews 8:6 KJV)

"He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life. The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses' face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. Shouldn't we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God! In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way. So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever!" (2 Corinthians 3:6-11 NLT)

Just to be clear, the glory of God that had shone of Moses' face, did not last long. He ended up putting a napkin or veil over his face, not to hide the glory being shone, but so that nobody would notice that it had left. It really does happen to just about everyone that is sharing or preaching God's word. As they share, and the Spirit is manifesting through them, they become radiant, for a certain period; but it does ware off. If you don't know what I mean, you can see it in almost every preacher as they are sharing, and then when you meet them later, they almost look like another person.

Anywho, we all need to be ready in season and out of season, to preach the Word of God! If you really don't know what that means, it is that we are always prepared for the opportunity to share, even though we were not expecting the opportunity to happen! When the right time comes, we must be ready and take the opportunity to share the Good News; even though you are not prepared or in the right place; as long as you have the reason, it is the season you must take advantage of, the moment the Spirit prompts you!

Perfect strangers are included, especially so; meaning that you can make a special impact without them knowing who you really are. When God opens a door, we must be ready and willing to share what He puts upon our hearts; you never really know what will become of it, except that you did what you were told to do, and that really matters...

"I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he appears to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you." (2 Timothy 4:1-5 NLT)
