"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister." (Hebrews 6:10 KJV)
"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from his grace. But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us. For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love." (Galatians 5:4-6 NLT)
Whatever you think about that which I shared yesterday, it is not my place to end a life! God will be the one that takes her life, not me; as I promised, when we were married, "till death do us part," which does not mean, 'till I feel it's time for her to go.' That is not what I promised, and that is that! However, the looks and the reactions I get from some people, it is as though I am being selfish or needy, by keeping her here. Well, I will let God be the judge of that, not anyone else.
That said, there are certain times when I feel overwhelmed and my heart hurts for her, watching her as we grow old together. It isn't the way I imagined it would be. But there are many things in this life that don't turn out as we plan; but God has certain plans for us that are hard to see; some of which might be for some other time, long after we have gone.
In the meantime, we must do our best to do what we think is right, while we serve and love others; also, knowing that God is watching over us! I truly hope that you believe that is so...
"Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old commandment - to love one another - is the same message you heard before. Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shinning." (1 John 2:7-8 NLT)
