"For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world." (Hebrews 4:3 KJV)
"Oh the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction." (PSALM 1 NLT)
Opps! I forgot to hit post yesterday morning; I guess I was too caught up in my complaining about life, that I didn't realize what I was doing. The "rest" we must be looking for, although it is actually not here on this place, called earth; we enter into it by believing that it is ours, that God has established it for us, and it is our privilege and honor to look forward to it, even though this current life might hurt.
Looking at the meaning in this term, "resting place," as Strong's puts it: "the heavenly blessedness in which God dwells, and of which he has promised to make persevering believers in Christ partakers after the toils and trials of life on earth are ended."
There is nothing wrong with having to suffer in this world; but there is something wrong with not being able to rejoice while suffering! We must be able to shine the light of Christ, no matter how things appear, because we don't have our hope in what we see happening to us or in us; our hope is in Christ...
"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing." (James 1:2-4 NLT)
