"That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals.
"For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf. And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal. If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove by his own death as a sacrifice.
"And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him." (Hebrews 9:23-28 NLT)
"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." (Isaiah 55:6-7 KJV)
As I was thinking about this portion of Scripture, I remembered something that I was shown, not too long after my wife and I were married. To be truthfully certain, I needed to look it up for myself, because it was hard to believe, seeing that sinning was still something I still had to deal with, again and again! The best way for me to illustrate what it was, is the idea that God doesn't have favorites, and we are all equal in His sight; no matter what, we are all precious and loved the same!
It is kind of hard to believe it, especially when we might mess up from time to time; but it is something we must try and remember, He really does love us, all the same...
"Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him." (Acts 10:34-35 KJV)
