"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:14 KJV)
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the lifegiving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit." (Romans 8:1-4 NLT)
As I was praying about this post this morning, I was reminded about some of those early lessons I learned, within the first few months of living out my new life in Christ. Something that really made me think about how important it was to believe in the salvation I had been given, was my very will to serve and share what Jesus had done in my life. This is the "Living Water," that Jesus talking about and wanted to show to that woman at the well.
There are some things we need to read about and try to understand how they work; but there are certain things that we can never understand until we actually do them, and experience how it actually works! The whole point is the fact that the blood of Jesus has fully satisfied the penalty for the entire sins of every person, in the entire world! When I accepted Christ as my Savior and actually believed that my sins had been totally forgiven, it was as if there was a heavy load that was lifted off of me, and I actually felt as though there was no more fear of death, almost, as if I was indestructible.
There is really no way to actually describe the real feeling I felt, because it is not something you can really understand until you actually experience what it feels like; but excitement you get in sharing it and trying to explain what you feel, that my brothers and sisters, is the power of the Living Water! If we don't share what we have been given, the Living Water does not flow, and if the Living Water does not flow, then that feeling inside loses life, like the Deed Sea, there is no real joy or excitement...
"Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD. Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him." (PSALM 105:1-4 NLT)
