"Obey the king since you vowed to God that you would. Don't try to avoid doing your duty, and don't stand with those who plot evil, for the king can do whatever he wants. His command is backed by great power. No one can resist or question it. Those who obey him will not be punished. Those who are wise will find a time and a way to do what is right, for there is a time and a way for everything, even when a person is in trouble.
"Indeed, how can people avoid what they don't know is going to happen? None of us can hold back our spirit from departing. None of us has the power to prevent the day of our death. There is no escaping that obligation, that dark battle. And in the face of death, wickedness will certainly not recue the wicked." (Ecclesiastes 8:2-8 NLT)
"Wherefore I put thee in remembrance, that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God: Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began;" (2 Timothy 1:6-9 KJV)
After saying all that was said, I felt a certain peace, almost as if it doesn't really matter what was said, because there is more to this than what I hope for to happen; what really matters is what God wants to see happen: And God needs His church to wake up and start getting serious about the salvation they have been given!
Now, there is a serious question I see on the horizon: What would cause the church to get serious about spreading the Good News and following Jesus? Would it that President Trump would win the election and start making life better for all of us, just so we can be happy and satisfied with this life? Or would be the other result, as we have more persecutions against the church, more perversion against our children, and more restrictions placed upon our lives?
Therefore, I am beginning to think we deserve the worst, to be made the best, because the best life will just make us fat and happy. We need to be persecuted and afflicted, just like Jesus was, because we are only going to be serious about the gift we have been given, once we start getting crushed and spilt out, just like our Lord and Savior! To that, I say: Bring it on...
"Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself." (2 Timothy 2:10-13 KJV)
