"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." (John 14:18 KJV)
"Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested." (Hebrews 2:18 NLT)
If you did not understand the point of yesterday's post, it involves the complex reality of failures and the inability we have to sometimes get this walk right; that no matter what, if we are His children, we will be saved, as He has promised us; but we might smell a little bit like smoke, even though we make it through in the end. Something to think about, because what you do with your gifts, whatever they might be, it really does matter.
This verse today is a promise! What that actually means, is that He will always be there when you call; unlike some friends that might not want to be bothered, called away from something else, or asked to help at the most inconvenient time, He will always be there when you need Him! Sometimes it might be a little later than you might have wanted; but that is because you need to learn something; but never to punish you or cause you more pain!
You must remember that He knows what is best for you, always! Even when you think He doesn't care, He cares for you more than you care about yourself! His plans for you are eternal and for the future, while we are always focused on the here and now. Our real comfort comes from knowing and believing that this life is very temporary, no matter how hard it gets, it will soon be over!
Seeking first the Kingdom of God, although we sometimes forget to, is the most important thing we can remember when times get rough! Make it work by giving Him all, because He gave His all for us...
""Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. In just a short time he will restore us, so that we may live in his presence. Oh, that we might know the LORD! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring."" (Hosea 6:1-3 NLT)
