"His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?" (John 11:8 KJV)
"I trust in the LORD for protection. So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to the mountain for safety! The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?"" (Psalm 11:1-3 NLT)
We pretty much know how it all plays out, so why bother trying to fix something that we already know isn't going to be fixed? You might not really care about all this noise, and I tend to agree with that, to a certain degree. But there is still something that we must do, regardless of what might end up happening; we must keep standing for what is right, no matter how wrong everything ends up becoming!
That is my take on everything, and I am sticking to it! Other than that, God is still on His Throne, He is still the ultimate Judge, that will judge each and every person, not based upon what goes on around them, but what goes on within their own hearts. If you know what it is that you are meant to do, and you don't do it, then not doing it is sin! (James 4:17)
If you know what God is capable of doing, what then prevents you from stepping out? I have heard about several different stories lately, as people that are bold enough to step out, look behind them and realize that no one else is stepping out with them. That doesn't stop them, but it sure makes them feel as if they are on their own! We are never alone! God is always going to be on the side of the righteous!
Jesus was going to do something spectacular, as He knew it would be something that would set things in motion. This wasn't just about Lazarus, this was about glorifying God, and showing all that pay attention, He is who He claims to be! Starting with these disciples!
I know it might not seem as though it all makes sense, but God's ways and our ways are on a whole different level. We see apposition and likely defeat; God sees opportunity and sure victory, because He alone is God! And guess what that represents...
"What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" (Romans 8:31 NLT)
