"Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?" (John 10:36 KJV)
"And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on him - the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the LORD. He will delight in obeying the LORD. He will not judge by appearance nor make a decision based on hearsay. He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked. He will wear righteousness like a belt and truth like an undergarment." (Isaiah 11:2-5 NLT)
The more I think about this, the more I imagine what it might have been like to be so ignorant of the truth; it was pretty obvious that Jesus had been anointed by God, to say the least; but to challenge Him on who He said He is, after seeing His power and wisdom: that really takes a lot of nerve. There is really only one way that this can be explained: They were filled with jealousy and hate!
Does that sound familiar to the character of someone who you might have heard of? From what I have heard, the devil was jealous of God's plan for mankind, which is what caused him to rebel against God and try to destroy God's plan. If there was anyone that should have understood the chances of winning that battle, you would think that it would have been the devil, but jealousy and hate make one blind to the truth, no matter how obvious the truth might be!
By the way, I see things are getting a little bolder in the way of politics as it looks as if there may be a rush to try and do anything and everything to keep the power, which is getting more and more powerful each and every day. Here is an old saying, if anyone is interested: "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
Back in the day, there was a time when those in politics were meant to be about representing the people, as opposed to representing the government that controls the people. The way our Founders wrote the Constitution, the people were supposed to control the government: "We the people," was the term of the Declaration, not, 'we the government'.
But, as many try to say, it was an experiment to establish a better Union, and it wasn't meant to survive the test of time. Besides, I keep hearing over and over that this Nation is not recorded in the Bible; and the closest link to anything, is from Revelation 17:5, "Mystery Babylon".
Anywho; I have questioned something else, something that has me a little puzzled and curious about the truth: If the son died in the pig-pin, would he have no longer been the son? Just asking, because I was under the impression that once we were adopted into God's family, we had some sort of security, having been taken into the family of God, by His choice...
""If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders off, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn't wander away! In the same way, it is not my Father's will that even one of these little ones should perish."" (Matthew 18:12-14 NLT)
