"They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet." (John 7:52 KJV)
"Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return. Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt. So don't bother correcting mockers; they will only hate you. But correct the wise, and they will love you. Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more." (Proverbs 9:7-9 NLT)
For us, these things seem rather unimportant and over-rated, why argue of where someone might be from, or whether or not anyone from a certain origin is good or bad? Well, in this case, there is really more to this than what we might expect. These claims and comparisons really don't even matter: as it were, Jesus was actually born in Bethlehem!
Yes, I know, there are so many different things being put forth, it makes it really hard to determine which is more important. As it were, these, so called leaders, are assuming that the people that follow Jesus are all somehow attached to Galilee, as if there were some sort of curse upon that place, and anyone that believes a certain way, are Galileans.
Well, I think we can probably create a better, "House of Cards," by assuming that Jesus was just a man, no matter where it was that He was born or raised; such an assumption will not hold any weight, whatsoever! We all know how this turns out, so the politics of the matter really seems unimportant; but these things are still true today, most of which are pressing harder and harder.
That said, there is really no way to argue with those that have not the truth; we are only wasting our breath trying to convince them of something they cannot see. The only way that they can see, is by changing their heart; something that can only happen by the power of God!
As to the current culture of this world, whether you can see it or not, but we are quickly getting more and more out of control with each passing day. I heard something about a week or so ago, that started out as a compliment and ended up as a rebuff. A man from Europe was exclaiming how America was so great, having been great at engineering, and being vigorous at whatever we put our minds to; even when it comes to stupid and crazy, we press hard into that too, taking it to the max!
We can't just accept something and move on; we build a life around it and make it into the reason to live and die for; something that isn't even right or good and is basically mocking God! Talk about a house of cards...
"Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshipping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshipped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshipped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen." (Romans 1:22-25 NLT)
