"PEEK-A-BOO"

"By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but found him not." (S.O.S. 3:1)

Okay, don't be alarmed by this, but this is the title of today's message that I believe I heard God say; and then I did something I almost always do, I looked up the definition, and came up with this little ditty: "Peek-A-Boo is a game that helps develop object permanence, which is part of early learning. Object permanence is an understanding that objects and events continue to exist, even when they cannot directly be seen, heard, or touched. Most infants develop this concept between 6 months and a year old. If object permanence hasn't been developed, it will be "out of sight, out of mind" with any person or thing that is removed from the baby's vision."
That shared, I do not believe that we are ever alone; even in our darkest and most unmentionable moments, God is more that capable of somehow still being present, in some way or another: this is what you might call, Being Omnipresent, which means that God is present everywhere at the same time. It might not be what you want to think about while you are being naughty, but it is a fact that you must come to terms with, if you are really expecting God to hear you in your time of need.
To better see this fact, check out Ezekiel 8, because there is absolutely nothing we can do or say, or even think, that is hidden from God's sight! And yet, God loves us, even still! As a matter of fact, I am under the opinion, assumption, or illusion, that God looks for and expects only one thing from His children: to walk in faith, believing that He loves them! Nothing else really matters; not that stupid thing that you do; not even, believe it or not, not trusting Him; which is of itself a form of lacking faith. But that's probably the most wonderful thing about God's love, is that He overlooks that lack of faith, but focuses upon the small little seed of faith that is hidden deep inside of our hearts!
I would like to take a moment to address something, something that we might call, the elephant in the room. It is first witnessed in the Garden, as the serpent is asking Eve, "Yea, hath God said, Ye, shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" I think the NLT gives it a little clearer meaning, because the question is not based upon what God said, but what He really meant by what He said: "Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?" (Genesis 3:1b NLT)
It is really not a question of whether or not we misunderstand what God says, it is more a question of our ability to believe what He says is sure, is it really sure! Does it continue to exist, or is it just a thing we can somehow control, like flipping a switch. I am one of these crazy Christians that love to wash myself several times a day; at least twice, but more like twenty; and just like that instruction on the side of the bottle, meant to gain the product maker higher revenue, we must rinse and repeat...

"For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone that believes -the Jew first and the Gentile. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life." (Romans 1:16-17) NLT
