"He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in Him." (Psalms 66:6) It just so happens, God really did part the ocean; and yes, the ground was dry enough for Israel to go through to the other side; without having to get stuck in the mud! Speculate all you want, but God is not subject to the laws of nature; God created everything with just His word, He can surely manipulate or change anything He wants to, without much of a challenge. I really do think that this is a good example of God doing whatever it takes to make something good of a bad situation. This has been the subject of several debates that I have witnessed in my lifetime, so I can only imagine how often it really is discussed. Was the water really parted into walls, or did it just subside? How could they get their wagons through, let alone walk on the muddy surface? Let the speculators think what they might, God has the power to do anything! The only thing that surprises me, is why the armies of Egypt thought they could follow them across! What were they thinking? Maybe it was, If their God made this happen for them, then it should still stay that way for us. That did not turn out to be a very good choice on their part, because they were all buried in the ocean. Does it stand to reason that we need to trust God in every situation? More importantly, I believe that we need to not pay any attention to how things appear, because God does not do things that meet the plans we might have, nor does He allow us to take the credit; when we come through to the other side, we are going to know, undeniably, that it was all His doing...
"It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live for ever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they are raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are spiritual bodies. The Scriptures tell us, "The first man, Adam, became a living person." But the last Adam - that is, Christ - is a life-giving Spirit. What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man." (1 Corinthians 15:42-49)
