"These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;" (Jude 12 KJV)
"Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins." (Ephesians 2:1 NLT)
As for those who might try to persuade you or lead God's children into a lie, they will end up dying twice, if they do not change their ways. All of us were born dead to God; which is what happened when Adam sinned in the Garden; his sin cause all to be born separated from God and our souls were dead, we were empty souls, waiting to die; lost and without fellowship with our Creator!
There is this certain thing that is said about being born again: "Born once, die twice vs. Born twice, die once!" We are promised eternal life, even if we die, our life will be transformed and death has no sting! We will not even experience the grave or cremation, only the wonderful comfort of being with the Lord, immediately after we take our final breath!
This is pretty much what Jesus came for, that we could be alive in Him, and when this body dies, we are still alive and will never die again! This body that we are in, is just a tent; which is only a shell that we will be released from us once this body has quit or been destroyed. Whatever you have been told about what happens when you die; make absolutely sure you know what is written in the Bible!
There are so many different religions that twist what the Bible actually says; making people unaware of their standing with God, pretending that they know where your spirit goes when you die, and what it will take to get released or resurrected! The only resurrection we will encounter is when these dead bodies will rise up and become something that never rots or gets destroyed; when the soul that has been with the Lord, will be reunited with a new body; one that will last forever and ever...
"We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who are dead. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words." (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 NLT)
