"For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people." (Hebrews 10:30 KJV)
"Bless those who persecute you. Don't curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don't be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don't think you know it all! Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the LORD. Instead, "If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads." Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil be doing good." (Romans 12:14-21 NLT)
Sense we know that God will faithfully carry out all that He has promised to do, then we should clearly believe that He will judge everyone, as He has clearly said He will! This is not anything we need to be fearful over; that is, unless you are guilty of not loving others as you should! That is a pretty big deal, in God's book; something that He has shown us, time and time again: "Treat others as you want to be treated!"
The judgment for those who have done right, will be that of rewards, not that of penalty or punishment; but that of being judged as a righteous servant, a judgment of being blessed for doing good. At the same time, those who meant to harm us, even though we did them good and tried to love them, they will be an example what happens to those who persecute His anointed ones!
That is what that word, "recompense," is showing, which is also both good and bad! It's good for those that do good, but it is bad for those that do bad! God will judge His people; everyone belongs to Him, no one cannot be judged by Him, especially those that don't believe in the Good News and His Son...
"Dear brothers and sisters, we can't help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. We proudly tell God's other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. And God will use this persecution to make you worthy of his Kingdom, for which you are suffering. I his judgment he will pay back those who persecute you. And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don't know God and on those who refuse the Good News of our Lord Jesus." (2 Thessalonians 1:3-8 NLT)
