"Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." (Hebrews 1:9 KJV)
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below - indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39 NLT)
Just about every message I heard yesterday, including the one at our church service, had to do with us believing that Christ Jesus did rise from the dead. All of them pretty much preached the same message, and almost all referenced 1 Corinthians 15:12-20, mentioning how important is that we know and believe that Jesus absolutely rose from the dead.
One of the last messages that I heard, was a little more demanding, as if to say, there is enough proof to actually make it hold up in Court, if someone wanted to make a case against it! If it is that easy to make a case, it should be something that we can do, as His follower's, without doubt or having the least bit of hesitation in making the case that He is alive!
That is the whole point of why Jesus hung around after being raised from the grave; to show us that He lives, by showing Himself to all those that would believe and share the truth: There is life after death! Not only that, but Jesus told them He would be coming back; something we are still waiting on to happen!
Do we still ever have doubt? Well, when we do, I truly believe that it is because we force ourselves to doubt, just to be able to feel free to sin. I know that might sound crazy, because why would anyone ever want to feel free to sin? Why would we freely sin, if we know God is watching?
More than anything, I hate sinning, but I find myself still dealing with sin; and even though I believe I sin less and less, the little bit of sin is enough to make me feel totally sinful and unworthy! Thank goodness that I have a Mediator who knows me better than I know myself!
We are trapped in this world until God takes us out or until Jesus comes back; but in the meantime, we focus on the finished work of Christ, telling others of all He has done, and believing that it worked! Do you believe that He has washed you by His blood? I think it is easier to believe that He has risen, than it is to believe that all of our sins have been removed. What say you...
"Therefore, since we have been right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God's glory." (Romans 5:1-2 NLT)
