"Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples." (John 9:28 KJV)
"For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly." (1 Peter 2:21-23 NLT)
If you have been paying attention, then you are probably aware of some of the wicked and perverse things the public schools are doing with our little children. Here in California, children as young as 5 or 6 years old are given instruction in being whatever sex they might feel like, without their parents' permission. In case you did not know, in their eyes, the children belong to them, more than they belong to the parents!
As we live in this world, we are told to not love this world, but that does not mean that we don't love people! We are called to love, even our enemies, as hard as that might be, because we never know if even the worse and most wicked person we know, might one day be a brother or sister!
Jesus called out the Jewish leaders, but when it came to that final moment, He asked the Father to forgive them for what they had done to Him. "Love the person, but hate the sin," is what my mom would say. I really think that she lived that out; as bad as I was, she always spoke good things about me!
It might be hard to follow that golden rule, so to speak, but if think about the bad things we have done, we can remember what it feels like to have been forgiven and begin wishing other might feel that also. You know, that saying, 'Walk a mile in their shoes,' is the same as saying, 'Imagine if that was you!'
Obviously, that is not the case with these Jewish leaders! They hate Jesus, and now that they know that this man believes in Him, so they hate him also...
"You who call yourselves Jews are relying on God's law, and you boast about your special relationship with him. You know what he wants; you know what is right because you have been taught the law. You are convinced that you are a guide for the blind and a light for people who are lost in darkness. You think you can instruct the ignorant and teach children the ways of God. For you are certain that God's law gives you complete knowledge of the truth." (Romans 2:17-21 NLT)
