"He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?" (John 9:36 KJV)
"But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!" (Romans 10:14-15 NLT)
Have you ever wondered about what makes the feet of messengers beautiful? Beautiful to whom? To God? To the person or persons that hear the message? How about, to the messenger, themselves? What if there was some connection between all three, with more, a whole lot more to come?
We never really know what might happen when we share Christ with anyone; whether or not that message was received or rejected, whether it was for then or for later, or whether it was just to make ourselves to be more acquainted with sharing Jesus. Regardless of what might happen, it is really not up to us to make it happen, that is totally and completely up to God!
There is always one thing I remember when I share or teach to a congregation, that the message is not for everyone that is in the room. If there are some that don't get it or seem unattached, it is really not up to me to make the message alive in them, that's up to God; I am just the messenger!
We really don't need to be ashamed if there are no people lifting their hands or standing when you give the invitation; you should only feel ashamed if you were prompted to give the invitation and did not follow through...
"For God says, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you." Indeed, the "right time" is now. Today is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT)
