"How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! How much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointment than all spices!" (S.O.S. 4:10)
And then!!! If this were to be the last post, it would be well with my soul, because I believe this is the reason for all of it, every last one! Matthew Henry gives these two references regarding the "wine" and the "ointment," saying: "How much better is thy love than wine, then all the wine that was poured out to the Lord in the drink-offerings!" "The ointments, the odours wherewith she is perfumed, the gifts and graces of the Spirit, her good works, which are an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God, Philippians 4:18." And then, summing these two together: "Love and obedience to God are more pleasing to Christ than sacrifice or incense."
As to those two references the other day: Jesus Christ was, is, and forever will be God! He was God in the beginning; He was God here on earth in the flesh; and He is God, that will be all that everything will be judged by, through, and for! Simply put; He is the Word of God! If God has a face, there He is! If God has a way to communicate who He is, there He is! If God speaks, then, then there He is! Though Him, by Him, and for Him, was everything made that was made! (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16, Hebrews 2.)
The mud-balls that Jesus made to heal the blind eyes of a man that was born blind, were signifying the moment in which He originally made man from the dust of the ground; right after He said: "Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." Amazingly, He not only made the light, He is the Light! He not only works the work, but He is the Work! Without Him, the Light, there is no Work!
Yes, I know what you might be asking: What's the humor in that? Anywho, the man with the legend of demons, he too was possessed by that herd of demons to give glory to God, that the works of God would be manifested in him, but also, in the pigs that were the subjects of the demons! They asked Him to not to torture them until it was their time, seeing a herd of pigs, they asked that, "If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine." So, Jesus was pleased to grant them their wish! "Go," He said, and there they went; most likely not very pleased by the mode and character of the vessels they choose go by!
Everything that we must suffer through, go through, or walk in, it is all for Him to use for His glory! As long as it is here, right here and now, it is all going to be used for His purposes and to fulfill what He wants to do; even our stupid mistakes and our highly rebellious sins, everything is subject to what He wills to be done, and everything is an opportunity for Him, to work out for the good. No matter how much destruction, or how unlikely it might appear; everything is going to be somehow used to fulfill what is going to be in the end...
"Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, but now is made manifest, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: to God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen." (Romans 16:25-27)
