"Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:" (Psalms 122:3)
The thing that is the greatest about our foundation being Christ, is that there is something that never changes that unites us and keeps us standing. The one thing that we never want to do is to put any trust in man, no matter how much there is an appearance of godliness, they are human and can fall just like any other person on the face of this earth. If you really want to get technical about it, the thing that speaks most powerfully to me about what is being said, is that of neediness. Yes, that is the term I see, just like the concrete powder needs water, rock, and sand, if it is going to actually bond tightly together. No matter what we are dealing with individually, we all need to same thing to make us whole: A Personal Relationship With Jesus! What that is, is not based upon anyone else and their relationship, it is strictly based upon each and everyone's own personal relationship with the Lord. Just like we all have our own individual lives, we must also each have our own individual relationship with the Lord. The thing that makes it so amazing, is the fact that the individual lives are united in Christ, our Chief Cornerstone! We are the rocks and mortar, all fashioned together to make His glorious Temple. What that looks like, in case you were not paying attention, is that we need each other! You cannot have a wall that is strong if it is missing some of the ingredients in the mix! We are the mix, every sort and every fashion, all united is Christ Jesus for the glory of our Heavenly Father; for Him to point to and say, "That is Son and His glorious bride!" The other thing that we have in common, besides needing each other, is that we all, being united, absolutely need Jesus...
"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for a habitation of God through the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:19-22)
