"O LORD, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches." (Psalms 104:24)
Do you want to turn it up a notch? I don't know about you, but I get a little hesitant every time there is a call to do anything that involves revival or some kind of spiritual awakening. I am not sure that is something you can plan for, like saying, 'Come out Friday night, we are having a revival here at the church.' There is a church here in this town that makes claims like that all the time, but many of their experiments of spiritual awakenings turn into events where people loose control of their senses, and do things that might seem weird or out of the ordinary. I need to be careful what I say, because there are people who desire to see such things, as if that's what it is all about, God showing up with signs and wonders. Where does it stop? That's the thing about God's Word, it is never old or without a new revelation; His Word does not ever have an end, it is never without giving us something to take out of the meeting or Bible Study; that is, not if that is what you are looking for to happen. We need to come expecting God to speak. That is why I am always taking notes. I heard Pastor Jon say, 'If you don't have a pen and paper in hand, then you are not expecting to hear something worth writing down,' or something to that line of thinking. Here is something that I have learned over the years, that we never give up! Even though we are feeling out of sorts, or even though our faith might seem to have faded away, we never stop believing that God is not through with us, we never give up on His promises, and we never ever think of leaving Him; as if we could! Where are you going to go! You can't hide or run away from God, it is just totally impossible! So, here you are, stuck in a place where you have no other choice but to continually surrender; regardless of how you might feel about it, because truth be told, it is not about feelings! I am sorry if I have busted someone's bubble, but feeling are what makes us what to give up. Feelings destroy marriages and cause our youth to take their own lives. We feel unloved, unwanted, or unneeded, and next thing you know, we are looking for a way out. Love is not about how we feel, it is about how we make others feel; if you want to make it about feelings, then there you go; make it about making others feel good and loved...
"Get rid of bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God." (Ephesians 4:31-5:2) NLT
