"For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more." (Psalms 103:16)
I hope that spoke into someone's heart, because I believe there is always a reason that God speaks in a certain direction; it's not just without purpose, because God says, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." As to the point I was making yesterday, wherever we might be at any given time, is exactly the place where God can use us; we just need to be expectant and willing to be used, that's all. In the ruins or in the wilderness, it really does not matter, because God is in the mess, as well as in the calm. It is pretty much about us being faithful in the little things, and if we are, then God will give us bigger things. What are your little things? Usually, for most of us, our little things are those whom God has placed around us. Wherever we are, those to whom God has placed in our lives, those are our little things. I heard a comment made the other day about Paul being chained to a Roman soldier, they said, "Paul was not chained to that soldier so that he could not get away, but so that the soldier could not get away from him." That is pretty much just as it was; any soldier chained to Paul was sure to get saved, especially after Paul used those chains to explain what it means to be set free. Be that as it may, there is still the question regarding today. We need to also be mindful of the day that we are living in, not only the place where God might have us. You know that song, "This is the day that the Lord hath made," which is actually taken from Psalms 118:24; a Psalm which happens to be about "Thanksgiving." Every day is a day that the Lord has made; we should not put off for tomorrow what God has given us today. In the context of what is being said, "place" is not just a place where you were, it actually means more about existence, like here today, gone tomorrow. In that context, place is more about time, then it is a certain destination. Of all the things which God has given us to utilize for serving Him, time is the most common thing we all have in common. Maybe not over all, because some of us obviously live longer than others; but as for today, this day is the same amount of minutes for each and everyone of us that survive it. We need to make the most of what we have been given. And if you are still waiting for God to give you something to work with, then you are wasting time...
"Listen! It's the voice of someone shouting, "Clear the way through the wilderness for the LORD! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God! Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and the hills. Straighten the curves, and smooth out the rough places. Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all will see it together. The LORD has spoken!" A voice said, "Shout!" I asked, "What should I shout?" "Shout that people are like the grass. Their beauty fades as quickly as the flower in a field. The grass withers and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the LORD. And so it is with the people. The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.""
