"For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head." (Psalms 83:2) It is really not an issue to get God to listen, nor is it really an issue to get God to speak up; for God will do what He feels He should do, when He needs to do it. That said, I believe that our response is pretty much God's will for what needs to be done. In other words, God puts the issue on the hearts of His people, and then they pray for the issue at hand. You can believe it happens however you want, but I will continue to believe it's God will that gets things done. Case in point, this is something that was explained on the radio the other day, and it had to do with the disciples and nets full of fishes. The first instance was the time Jesus saw Peter, Andrew, James, and John together, and He told them to cast their nets on the other side of the boat; the catch was so big that they could not lift up the nets and the nets began to tear. The second had to do after Jesus resurrected, as He finds them fishing again, and said, "Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find." It happens again, the net is so full that they could not draw it in. But something happens, Jesus speaks directly to them saying, "Bring of the fish which ye have now caught." So Peter goes by himself and drags the net up and over to the dry land; a net full of 153 large fish. So, what's the point? Well, if you think about it, if it's going to benefit us, it must be God's will that makes it happen. The first batch of fish were to prove the power Jesus had, which influenced their choice to follow Him, for Him to make them, "Fishers of Men." The second was to prove the power we have to do God's will, when He asks us to do it. Either way, it's His will, whether it is meant for learning or doing, it's all His will that gets it done...
"It is the LORD who provides the sun to light the day and the moon and stars to light the night, and who stirs the sea into roaring waves. His name is the LORD of Heaven's Armies, and this is what he says: "I am as likely to reject my people Israel as I am to abolish the laws of nature!" This is what the LORD says: "Just as the heavens cannot be measured and the foundations of the earth cannot be explored, so I will not consider casting them away for the evil they have done. I, the LORD, have spoken!"" (Jeremiah 31:35-37) NLT
