"He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to pestilence; and smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham: but made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock." (Psalms 78:50-52) Have you ever tried to figure out something that is impossible to figure out? It is absolutely mind bending. There are just some things we are not going to know the answer for; not in this life, but maybe in the next. Regarding the purpose for that closing Scripture yesterday, it's really quite simple to figure out how salvation is obtained or rejected, because it is real. Unlike some things in the spiritual world of the supernatural, things that cannot be figured out, our salvation is unlike any other spiritual encounter, it is as simple as turning on a light in a room; you know when the light goes on or not! I heard an interesting word the other day about predestination, if you are someone who believes in such a concept. Although God might know the outcome for our life, we on the other hand don't have a clue; all that we can be assured of, is that God's will is for everyone to be saved, and those that reject His offer of salvation will not. That said, we are in a wilderness, in a spiritual sense; this is not where belong anymore, because God has called us out of the world and has prepared a place for us to dwell in, where He is. Does that cause us to live different that those in the world? It should, because if you are really in the wilderness, then you not attached to those things of the world; you cannot be attached any longer, because you have been taken out of that environment, spiritually. You might still have cravings for what you once knew, but you are not that same person anymore, and you have a new destination. That is by far the greatest proof of our salvation, the destination has changed! You know where you are going, because God has placed you on the path, and His path is as clear as day; all that is behind you is pestilence and death; all that is before you is life everlasting...
"All who believe in the Son of God know in their hearts that this testimony is true. Those who don't believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don't believe what God has testified about his Son. And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God's Son does not have life." (1 John 5:10-12) NLT
