"So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?" (John 13:12 KJV)
"Then this message came to me from the LORD: "Son of man, with one blow I will take away your dearest treasure. Yet you must not show any sorrow at her death. Do not weep; let there be no tears. Groan silently, but let there be no wailing at her grave. Do not uncover your head or take off your sandals. Do not perform the usual rituals of morning or accept any food brought to you by consoling friends." So I proclaimed this to the people the next morning, and in the evening my wife died. The next morning I did everything I had been told to do. Then the people asked, "What does all this mean? What are you trying to tell us?"" (Ezekiel 24:15-19 NLT)
A little strange, was my first thought; but then I realized the God needs to be first in our lives, above all else! Even if it hurts, there is really nothing we could go through on this earth that could possibly come close to what Jesus Christ did for us!
As previously stated, this little moment, washing the feet of the disciples, pretty much summed up His entire life here on this earth; all the way from conception to assentation, to was all illustrated by entire event. From the time He said, "All right, here it goes," to this moment, as He was dressed again and seated at the table, that was it, in a nutshell.
I am thinking of the things that contain the number three, which are more things than we could ever imagine! A simple one to start with, would be our lives: we are born, we live, and then we die. For those of us that have been born again, there are three steps to our salvation: Justification, Sanctification, and Glorification.
To the most important things for us to know: God said it, I believe it, and that settles it...
"You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls." (1 Peter 1:8-9 NLT)
