"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." (John 8:44 KJV)
"But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed." (2 Corinthians 11:3-4 NLT)
In the current culture, the chances of getting pulled into something that is, shall we say, corrupted by the world, not all that difficult to happen; if, you are not grounded in God's word and on the lookout for just about anything that the devil might dish out. Peter tells us, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8)
This is not a cakewalk, this life we live in this world, of which we do not belong; the devil loves to take out those that have anything to contribute to the spreading of the Good News. And those that spread it well, are the ones that have the biggest bullseye on their backs. If you don't think that is so, then you haven't been paying attention to what is going on.
Don't feel left out, because that is pretty much how it is these days. You don't look for things to be worried about, so you don't need to worry; at least not until something tragic happens in your own circle. There is nothing we can do about the fall of this current world, besides watching out for those we care about around us; and even then, speaking the truth to them, might just set them off and they will avoid listening all together.
So what do we do? PRAY!!! Pray for those that you have within your circle! Pray for those you know in the ministry! Pray for your love ones, your friends, your enemies, and those who are in leadership, regardless of what you feel about them, they are appointed by God!
This might not be a cakewalk, but it is a walk, nonetheless...
"I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached pefection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me." (Philippians 3:12 NLT)
