"This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him." (John 2:11 KJV)
"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." (Psalms 1:1-2 KJV)
If you did not get what that meant, it is because I did not complete what was being said, for good reason. When we are saved, we are saved completely and all at once; from the moment we come to believe in and ask Jesus to come into our hearts, we have become a new creation in God; there is no turning back, because to work was not of us, it was totally and completely a transformation performed by Him!
This is the miracle of the water to wine, as it is complete, through and through! Does that mean we have no more desire for sin? No, not in these sinful bodies; but sin is now something we are well aware of, and when we do sin, we are well aware that we have! It is now a question of serving, as in, who will you serve: the flesh, which will want to enjoy sin, or the Holy Spirit that is alive in you, that cannot stand sin, nor does He let us feel comfort when sin abounds.
The whole point in what must be done, is not done by us! If you are dealing with sin, it will not be dealt with by you choosing not to sin; although there are multitudes of those who say differently. This is the thing about would, because it is a lot like try! You can try all you want, but when it is at the forefront of your mind, you would most likely still be stuck on stupid!
Much like the water being made into wine, this is something the Lord will do in you, causing that which is not of Him, to be changed into something that is of Him; and it is all made available when you give it over to Him! Not a piece of it, or the major part of it; but the whole thing! Just like those water-pots being filled to the brim, it is all or nothing when it comes to sin!
Like I am some sort of expert! Far from being what I should be, but not unaware of what I must do! We all know what we lack, and I am pretty sure we all know what we need to do; try is not part of the solution, because try is simply saying, you don't need God to make you right...
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made us free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh; that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit." (Romans 8:1-5 KJV)
