"I will worship toward the holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified the word above all thy name." (Psalms 138:2)
So, when you think about trusting God, how far will that trust go? and is there a limit to your giving Him all of your life? Seeing that the point to this, is that it is a prayer, then this is more than just David declaring how good and faithful God is; this is David expressing to God how thankful he is that He is so good and faithful, because He is! As I said yesterday, it is the fact that we are set free from guilt and shame, that is what real freedom feels like; because you can be at the very top or at the very bottom, but if your sins still hold you in bondage, you will not know what it's like to be free. That is the amazing thing about God's Word: He said it is so, so that makes it so! Come on, tell me you get this, because I only have so much time to get this point out! If the Judge says that you are not guilty of a crime, what matters more, the name of that Judge or what that Judge says? No one can speak louder to the fact that you have been forgiven, absolutely no one! That said, we know what He is and what He is all about, so there is a need to praise His wonderful name; because in this case, His name does matter; especially when we are talking about the KING of Kings, and LORD of Lords! If you really what to see how that looks in reference to the WORD of God, read the first 18 verses of the Gospel of John; read it like you are really wanting to know the KING of the WORD! There is a reason that we must study God's Word, because it is like studying the universe; if you don't study the universe, then all you see is a bunch of stars; if you don't study God's Word, then all you will see is a bunch of promises and warnings. You have got to be able to see who He is and why He loves you so very much! You have to fully understand why it is that you must trust Him, even to the very end; because truth be told, that is not the end, only the beginning...
"Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Thou wilt perform the truth of Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old." (Micah 7:18-20)
