"They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever." (Psalms 125:1)
If you are looking for something that is easy to hold onto, then you should be looking at the One that is holding onto you! There are some mornings that just feel off, as though I have no clue what I am doing, what God is trying to say, or even if I should continue this incredible journey. I cannot tell you that this is easy, because it is not; it is really hard some mornings to express what it is that I feel God is telling me, and some mornings, I don't even know how to interpret what He is saying, if He is even saying anything at all. But God, who holds everything together, I know is holding me; that much I can tell you with every fiber of my being. If you want to know what I feel this verse is speaking to, then there it is; that we are not governed by what we feel or don't feel, because trying to base anything upon that is like trying to govern your life by which way the wind is blowing; it just does not work! No, this is not about the feelings we might have, the thoughts we might be thinking, or even the way we might understand what is being said; this is about a God that loves you, regardless of what you might be feeling, thinking, or understanding, He continues to love you! The point of much of yesterday's post, in case you did not get the meaning, is that He never changes; regardless of what we might be feeling, He remains the same! I know that is hard to imagine sometimes, especially when we are struggling with sin or dealing with a trial. But, any time we have something that takes our hope away, it is time to focus upon the One that holds us and is never letting go! This is grace! Grace is God giving you what you do not deserve, regardless of how much you don't deserve it, He just keeps on giving it, even more, the more you don't deserve...
"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindness towards us, through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourself: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:4-10)
