"Consecration"

"Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD, quicken me according to thy judgment." (Psalms 119:149)

"The act of making or declaring something sacred." That is the definition of the word to describe this thought today. Basically, it is more or less the way that we accept the relationship we have with our Heavenly Father and the passage we have to enter into fellowship with Him. Not that it is an act we should take lightly, because the access we have was purchased with a powerful and costly price. The way that we have access was provided by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross; it is only be the blood of Jesus that we can have access, and the access we have is unfiltered! In case you don't know what that might mean, it means that we can speak directly to our Heavenly Father! We can cry out "Abba, Father," and He will listen! To try and make this as easy to understand as possible, it is best to relate it to experience on a much lower level. Say that your earthly father was mad at you for something that you did, like maybe in a fit of rage you shouted over and over how much you hated him. You feel terribly sad for what you said, and deep down inside you know that your father truly does love you; so you humbly approach him to try and offer up an apology. This is the way the word "quicken" comes into play, because it represents life and restoration; just as you would experience if your earthly father would graciously forgive you and treat you as if it had never happened at all...

"Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." (Psalms 5:2-3) KJV
