"Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD." (Psalms 113:1)
I know that it might seem as though I keep saying the same thing, over and over; but there are some things that need to keep being repeated, and praising God is surely at the top of the list. We need to praise Him in the good times, as well as the bad times; when things are going well, and when things are not. Our circumstances do not control our ability to praise Him; our ability to praise Him controls our circumstances! What gives us the ability to praise Him no matter what? He does not change! No matter what might be going on in our lives, He is always faithful to complete His work in us; even when it might seem as though He is not there, He never leaves us, He is always watching over us, and we are always on His mind. Another thing that Pastor Rick mentioned Sunday, if I haven't mentioned it yet, that we define the thing we don't know by what we do know. If there is a question of something going on in your life that has you baffled or confused, then find a certain truth that you do know and use that to define your situation. If need be, start with the most basic, like, I know that God loves me. That is something we don't need to be confused about; if He would send His son to die upon that cross for your sins, that should be enough to show you His great love for you. If you need greater proof about it being you, then you only need to consider the "Whomsoever," and commit to that! Use that to define you confusion about whether or not God loves you! Are you one of the Whomsoever's that believe that He sent His Son to die for you? Well, that settles that! Now we can move on to the next truth and the next; things like whether or not He is with you or how everything works towards the good; basic truths and promises the Bible holds out to us, that we can surely know and hold onto, no matter what confuses or baffles our minds. That is why we can praise Him no matter what, because no matter what, He is worthy of all of our praise...
"Let the godly sing for joy to the LORD; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing for joy. For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does." (Psalms 33:1-4) NLT
