"Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength." (Psalms 96:7)
As with most forms of worship, there comes a time when the worship needs to be applied to the source; a moment in the moment where you say, This is why we do this! When it comes to the worship of God, there are several reasons we ought to be worshiping Him with passion and a thankful heart, the most of which is the way that He cares for us. Maybe your current situation does not give you the feeling of being cared for; or maybe your life does not seem all that filled with care and comfort, to the point you even wonder if God does care about you. It's really not that hard to find yourself feeling all alone; if it can happen to the best and strongest, it can surely happen to any one of us. When it does happen, and it most likely will from time to time, the easiest way to shake it off is to worship the Lord from the place of nothingness. Do I need to explain myself? Well, I will give it my best shot. We came into this world naked and without any worldly possessions, and we will leave this world the same way, without even a stitch of anything. The life we now live is much like the life of the child within the womb; we wait to be released, yet totally unaware of what awaits us when we do; and all the while, we are cared for by the protection of that space we find ourselves in. It really does not matter how or when it happens, as well as it doesn't to that unborn child; either way, that child will be experiencing new life, whether here or there, it will not know the difference. We have been given the gift of knowing how much God cares for us, while the unborn child is really unaware. But, if you believe as I believe, that unborn child is in the protection of the Lord; and if something should happen, then that child will find itself in the presence of the Lord. So, if you really want to get right down to it, the place of nothingness is the place between where you were and where you will end up...
"But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God's love. And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering. Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives. Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen." (Jude 1:20-25) NLT
