"Hold Onto Jesus"
"He that saith, I know Him, and keep not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked." (1 John 2:4-6) It's odd, but last night as I went to sleep, I saw in a dream the woman who touched the hem of Jesus' garment and was healed, saying, If I can just touch the hem of His garment, then I should be healed. After that dream, the title for today's blog came to my mind, Hold Onto Jesus, but it was in the form of a song, which played over and over in my head. And then the strangest thing happened, as if a playback movie was presented in my head; you know, the kind where you just see little glimpses of events that have taken place; random images of Biblical stories, each involving Jesus being called out to, reached out for, and held onto. And then there was one image that kept repeating itself randomly between all the others, John resting his head upon the chest of Jesus, as if to hold onto the Creator of his soul; much like the young man who held onto the leg of Jesus as they took Him from the garden. Now, about this thing I was sharing on yesterday; Do you know why the heart gets hard in the first place? I will give you a hint: it has to do with not doing what we know that we should do. In case you did not get that: it has to do with sin! Remember, sin is missing the mark; the mark being the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ. When we miss the mark, we have an opportunity to correct that which we have wronged in, and that is done by confession; not confession to man, but to God. However, if we fail to confess that which we need to ask forgiveness for, then the hardness begins; layer upon layer of unconfessed sin, and there you have it, a heart that is hard as a rock. And then we have the elective surgery that must be performed, which I shared about yesterday, and that I know may have made some feel down; but fear not!!! There is One who shall carry us through anything and everything that we could possibly have to go through, but we must hold onto Him with all of our might. Pressing through the stuff, the crowds, anything that is in between us and our Redeemer, to but touch the hem of His garment and be healed; that is if you want to...
