"Finishing Well"
"I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father" (2 John 4) Given a choice start well or to finish well, which one would you choose? I will choose to finish well, because that is what will really make a difference. Many people start out, meaning to take it all the way to the end; yet, making wrong choices along the way, they finish poorly. However, to finish well is always still a choice to be made, and can be made; because there is nothing that is to big for God to fix; absolutely nothing! I would like to go back to something that I touched on early last year, it was about digging wells; which was something both Isaac and Jacob did well, however Isaac had a hard time holding onto his. Wells are something that can provide water for generations to come, yet they require labour to be dug; labour, which if completed, does not have to be endured by those that follow. If however you do not finish digging a well, then others that follow will have to complete it, or more times that not, they will not even try, assuming that the well was no good for water. This is why to finish well is so vital to those that follow, because an unfinished well is just a deep hole in the ground that others will pass by and wonder at. It really matters how you finish, that you will give others something to drink upon; otherwise what you have left is either an unfinished well, or a well that is not fit to drink of... "And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it." (2 John 5 & 6)
