"Preparation"

"By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;" (Hebrews 11:24 KJV)

"I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure-blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin - a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law. I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault. I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law, rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith." (Philippians 3:5-9 NLT)

Okay, this is all about three 40-year periods, where God makes good on His promise to the dream that He gave to Abraham. As I said before, it was this dream that made Abraham see his descendants, feeling the love in his heart for them, because of their 400 years of slavery; and God's great deliverance that will brings them back into their own land.

Moses was treated with all sorts of pleasures and given standing among the leaders of Egypt; yet, when he turned 40 years old, God put it on his heart to care for his own people, the children of Israel. You have to know what this might have looked like, and why the children of Israel were not so willing to trust him or think he was given any right to tell them what to do, in their personal lives.

If you really think about it, having him change is a lot like what happen to Saul, who became Paul; many of the followers of Christ, really didn't trust him or even forgive him, for quite some time. Forty years of living the dream, and then forty years of being a shepherd; tuning into forty years in the wilderness. All of it being governed by faith and God's will and purposes...

"You can make many plans, but the LORD's purpose will prevail." (Proverbs 19:21 NLT)
