"Therefore we ought to give more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip." (Hebrews 2:1 KJV)
"As they were crossing the lake, Jesus warned them, "Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod." At this they began to argue with each other because they hadn't brought any bread. Jesus knew what they were saying, so he said, "Why are you arguing about having no bread? Don't you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in? You have eyes - can't you see? You have ears - can't you hear? Don't you remember anything at all? When I fed the 5,000 with five loaves of bread, how many baskets of leftovers did you pick up afterward?" "Twelve," they said. "And when I fed the 4,000 with seven loaves, how many large baskets of leftovers did you pick up?" "Seven," they said. "Don't you understand yet?" he asked them." (Mark 8:15-21 NLT)
Believe it or not, but we all have some sort of tendency to let certain things the Lord has shown us, to slip, which basically means that we have either forgot about the application we were shown, or our heart is too hard to just let the Lord take us further than we have gone before. Either way, we are going to lose out on an experience that might actually change our life; if, that is you are looking for the Lord's work to come alive in your life!
When we hear and know the truth, whatever it is: "God will not forsake you," or "You are God's child once and for all," or "I will never stop loving you." What are the things we see happening in our lives that make us doubt anything we are told, thinking that it wasn't God's voice, but our own? If you need proof, I believe that God will allow you to experience the proof, by something that might not feel pleasant.
This is where I am at: hoping this experience doesn't cripple me or ruin my business or cause me to go into bankruptcy as if that is even possible. However, I have determined to enjoy the ride, no matter how hard things might get, because, as I said before: Our God is faithful! We can't see what He is doing, but we can sure do our best to have faith and let Him be in control.
I believe that in trials, God will tell you certain things to do, which might seem silly or not practical. But it is not because He is testing you are making you feel like a fool; but because what He tells you to do is easy! It still might be hard to step out from your comfort zone, but it always simple and easy, as long as you don't try to figure out what He is doing, but just wait on Him, and enjoy the ride...
"One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's cross over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and started out. As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling up with water, and they were in real danger. The disciples went and woke Jesus up, shouting, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm. Then he asked them, "Where is your faith?" The disciples were terrified and amazed. "Who is this man?" they asked each other. "When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!"" (Luke 8:22-25 NLT)
