"This is the LORD'S doing: it is marvelous in our eyes." (Psalms 118:23)
If, is a pretty strange word, if we are talking about belief. I hope you got that? Not only is it not well to use it in the same sentence with anything associated with what I believe, it absolutely should never be used with God's salvation of our souls. I was thinking of those three young men that were about to be thrown in the fiery furnace, as they so happened to use that word also, saying, "If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." (Daniel 3:17-18) It was never a question of if God would or could; God does and can do anything; but even if He did not or would not, there is more at stake for us then anything that man can do to us! If He does not heal you, will you still worship Him? If He does not take care of your situation, will you still serve Him? Whatever the issue is, have you made your salvation sure? This is something that is not up for debate; this is solely between you and God. I have nothing based upon anyone else or what someone I know has made known to me; this is an issue between me and my God, you and your God; there is no other besides Jesus who gets us into the Throne of God and who breaks down that curtain wall. If someone can talk you into believing, then someone can talk you out of it also. It must be settled in our hearts, whether or not anything else, it is so; so there...
"Bothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God -something the law of Moses could never do. Be careful! Don't let the prophets' words apply to you. For they said, 'Look, you mockers, be amazed and die! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn't believe even if someone told you about it.'"" (Acts 13:38-41) NLT
