"For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; his truth endureth to all generations." (Psalms 100:5)
Be that as it may, there are more and more churches that are getting away from teaching God's word, but instead are using God's word to teach worldly doctrine, instead of sound doctrine. This is by far the most telling part to the times that we are living in; besides the fact that evil is being called good, and good is being made to look evil, we are no doubt living in the last days. Which brings me to a point about this little Psalm, that we need to never let go of holding onto Jesus; no matter how bad it gets, and no matter how much we get let down by anyone, we need to keep holding onto the Lord. I know it's easy to say that we will, especially when we are feeling like there is nothing that can make us let go; but we need to prepare our hearts for what might come against us, and the only way to do that is to resolve to make it happen, regardless of what we might feel. Much like wedding vows, there are determined objectives that must be prepared for and determined to be overlooked. The good and the bad, the joy and the hurt; no matter what might happen, God is still good! This might sound like old worn out words, but there was a reason for Jesus being tormented and humiliated before He was hung on the cross, because this life is full of torment and humiliation! He not only took on our sins, but He suffered for everything that we suffer with; all the pain and all the hurt, all the ugliness that the world can deliver, He took it on and took it to the cross. We really do not have anything to complain about; nor do we have any reason to doubt that God loves us. What He demonstrated with the way He allowed His Son to be treated, on our behalf, is proof enough. Do you feel that God is not merciful in your situation? I know that we sometimes confuse mercy and grace; but in the midst of a trial or suffering, it is usually mercy we cry out for the most. I know I have said that grace takes over where mercy leaves off, but His mercy never stops; God's mercy is what paves the way...
"Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth! Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the LORD is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation." (Psalms 100) NLT
