"Love's Pure Light" - 4
I usually do not go over three days with the same title, but this one has not yet been brought fully to Light... "If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you." (John 14:15-17) There is a reason that we are to love one another, besides the fact that Jesus said we should do it; it has to do with God's dwelling place, and the fact that He does not dwell in darkness. Maybe you might be wondering what darkness has to do with not loving one another? Maybe you need to know what darkness means? There are several different forms, or meanings for darkness in the Scriptures; but they all have something very much in common, which is the association with the word 'void'; or to put it in the simplest terms, empty space! The reason that this is so very important to the life of a Christian, is because this was the life of ruin that they came from: void and without Light. To put it in a way that even the simple minded Believer can understand: If you walk in darkness, you are not in the Light; and if you hate your brother, then you are walking in darkness, and void of the Light... "Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and True Light now shineth. He that saith he is in the Light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the Light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes." (1 John 2:8-11)
